Plumas District Hospital is hosting the 2022 Sierra Nevada Conservation & Wilderness Medicine Conference at an entirely outside venue, the Pioneer Park in Quincy, California! Medical professionals wanting to expand their horizons are welcome to attend to explore and gain understanding of the natural wonders and medical perils of wilderness settings. Increase your knowledge of how catastrophic wildfires and climate change impact human health. Learn ways to cope with burnout, which is often coupled with depression and anxiety.
The schedule features world-class presenters, recreational opportunities, and workshops relating to wilderness medicine and patient care in remote settings. There will be afternoon skills stations in splinting, wound care, lifts and carries, and more. Additionally, there will be an interpretive hike through wildfire areas with an expert in forest management, wildfire severity, and habitat and forest restoration.
