The 2023 Sierra Nevada Conservation & Wilderness Medicine Conference happens September 8th-10th, at the UC Berkeley Forestry Camp in Meadow Valley, California. This high-quality educational event is supported through the combined efforts of Plumas District Hospital, Plumas Health Care Foundation, and The UC Berkeley Forestry Camp. The conference is open to both healthcare and non-healthcare professionals, including students and residents. CMEs, CEs, CEUs will be available.
Since the event is a remote venue, cell service and Wi-Fi are largely inaccessible. A landline is available for emergencies only. PDH encourages all participants to stay in the rustic cabins (Gender separate bunk/dorm room style logging) or bring a tent and camp on site, though you can make other accommodations if you choose. RV and Trailer camping is not available at the conference venue.
This year's conference theme is WATER: Adapting Healthcare to a Changing Climate.
The event schedule features world-class presenters, a keynote speaker, lectures and workshops relating to wilderness medicine and patient care in remote settings. For more information and to register for the event, visit www.pdh.org/events/WildernessConference/.
