ABOUT THE EVENT

Stars in the Barn, an action packed show that features the magical world of dancing horses, artists, horse and riders, aerial hand-to-hand acrobats and Japanese Taiko Drummers. Promising to be an exciting event of pageantry and beauty, Stars in the Barn blends acrobatic arts and skill into a visual adventure for audiences of both young and old to enjoy.

World-class performer Diane Olds Rossi, known as the “Diva” of dancing horses and Fire Magic, her magnificent Red Friesian companion along with Christine Van Loo, Olympic female athlete of the year are just a few of the international artists to grace the Stars in the Barn stage.

Acclaimed producer, co-directors and performers, Alain Gauthier and Chris David have infused Japanese Taiko Drummer musicians of outstanding international performing talent into this unique show. The experience combines exciting music, dramatic lighting, and sensual soul performances all on one stage. With a location as magnificent as the performance, Stars in the Barn is an extravaganza of colossal proportions set in the natural beauty of the High Sierras.

per person. Seating is limited with three shows available for this one time only performance.

PERFORMERS

ALAIN GAUTHIER
Montreal-born acrobat and choreographer Alain Gauthier, has created an avalanche of aerial stunts and dazzling special effects. The 1984 North American trampoline champion collaborated on many impressive Canadian and international productions such as Cirque du Soleil, Paramount and Super bowl XXXI. Gauthier’s innovative talent and solid experience, both onstage and behind the scenes, was put to profit during the creation of Cavalia. His presence and leadership on tour is a constant source of inspiration to the artists. Co-Director and choreographer, Alain once again provides his extreme talent for Stars in the Barn. 

CHRIS DAVID
Chris David, Producer and Co-Director is a local resident business owner, horse enthusiast, performer and musician who has spent thirty years in the entertainment business. At age twelve, he made his first dollar as a studio musician. Chris David played in the cast of Hair on Broadway and Jesus Christ Superstar, Promises Promises and played with several Big Bands from the East coast. Chris conceptualized this production idea while performing with his horse Iondor during the 2009 season, and was inspired to create this exciting entertainment concept for Graeagle and Eastern Plumas County. With all of his skills, Chris brings years of performance musical talents, record producing and artist management experience to this exciting and powerful performance.

Tiffany Tamaribuchi AND SACRAMENTO TAIKO DAN
Sacramento Taiko Dan is the premiere Japanese drumming ensemble in the greater Sacramento region. Founded in 1989, their performers include an international touring performance team. The combination of renowned drummers and outstanding drums enables Sacramento Taiko Dan to provide audiences with world-class entertainment.

CHRISTINE VAN LOO
Seven time national champion “Olympic” female athlete of the year, athlete of the decade, Christine Van Loo’s special skills range from two person hand-to-hand, tosses, contortion and balancing positions. Her specialty for the show will be aero gymnastics and aerial silks of which extends to a special performance with horse and rider. Christine has an extensive resume of films, television and live performance with such greats as Paul McCartney, Britney Spears, Aerosmith, 42nd & 45th Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, Stars on Ice, Cirque de Soleil, Star Wars, Rush Hour II, Spiderman, Earth Wind and Fire, and 2002 Winter Olympics. As a performer, Christine is an amazing talent and death-defying artist.

DIANE OLDS ROSSI
Blending the skill and communication between horse and horseman, Diane creates the world of imagination and enchantment with her world of dancing horses. Featuring Fire Magic the only Red registered Friesian Stallion in the world. Diane Olds Rossi, the ultimate equestrian entertainer of international acclaim. Master of the equestrian arts, Diane is the most widely known trainer of the equestrian arts known as “The Dance” or “Haute d’ecole” and is recognized as an expert of the Piaffe and Passage, which none have been able to match the brilliance and precision of her horses. Diane presents her stunning horses not as a dressage exhibitor, but as an entertainer. She makes horses have “the look of eagles” and performs with perfection, power, precision and elegance. This talented, one of a kind performer literally dances into the hearts of all her audiences and leaves a memorable performance for years to come.

SONNY BROWN
This truly incredible hand to hand balancing artist delights audiences with his wonderfully complex movements and ease of which this talented performer executes every sequence. Accomplished stage performer, Sonny has appeared in Storm, Imagine, Mystique and Splash. At sporting events his talents have been featured at the 1996 Olympic Games and the US Sports Acrobatic National Championships. Television debuts include, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Regis and Kathy Lee, Crook and Chase and various corporate engagements that include performances Anti-Gravity. This captivating performer has marveled audiences through out his entire acrobatic career.
