Professor Shipley is the Sensei (Head Instructor) of the Koshinkan Martial Arts School.

 

Professor John Shipley began his study of martial arts in 1972 in Goju-Ryu Karate. He received the rank of Shodan 1st degree Black Belt) in 1978. In 1986 he began studying Jujitsu under Professor Herb LaGue at th Bushidokan Martial Arts Temple in Sparks Nevada. While attending classes at the Bushidokan, he also studied Shotokan Karate, Tai-Chi and Iai-Jutsu. On June 8th, 1994 Professor Shipley opened the Koshinkan Martial Art school in Fallon NV. Professor Shipley developed a list of 20 techniques known as Yasu Nage, (Low Impact Nage) which has been made a part of the Bushidokan Federation's curriculum. On June 21st, 2009 Professor Shipley was promoted to Shichidan (7th degree Black Belt) with title of Shihan (Master Teacher).

Professor Hueston began studying Jujitsu in 1986 at the Bushidokan Martial Arts Temple in Sparks Nevada, under Professor Herb LaGue.  He has also studied Shotokan Karate, Tai-Chi and Okazaki's Restorative Massage.  After moving from Reno to Fallon Professor Hueston became an assistant instructor at the Koshinkan Martial Arts School.  On February 15th, 2009 he was promoted to Godan, (5th Degree Black Belt) and the title of Professor was bestowed upon him. Professor Hueston was promoted to Rokudan (6th Degree Black Belt) in June 2014.

Tim Walden began his study of Jujitsu in 1998 at the Koshinkan Martial Arts School.  He is an assistant instructor for the junior and adult classes, as well as, Professor Shipley's right hand man.  Tim received his 3rd Degree Black Belt on June 13th, 2009 and the title of Master was given to him. Master Walden was promoted to Yodan (4th Degree Black Belt) in May 2014.

Dustan began studying martial arts at the Koshikan in the year of 2003.  He received his 2nd Degree Black Belt in November, 2008. In May 2016, the title of Master was given to him when he was promoted to Sandan (3rd Degree Black Belt). Master Drinkut is also an assistant instructor for the junior and adult classes.

Denise Shipley

Denise began her training at the Koshinkan Martial Arts School in the year 2003. In the year 2005 she became Professor Shipley's wife.  She received the rank of Shodan on February 15th, 2009.  She is an assistant instructor for the junior and adult classes and also offers Women's Assault Prevention classes. Earning the title of Sandan in May 2014, Shipley is now a Master.

Kyle Walden

Kyle began studying Jujitsu in the Koshinkan's junior's class in 1998.  Kyle moved up into the adult class and years later achieved his Black Belt.  Kyle also is an assistant instructor for the junior and adult classes.  In November 2008 Kyle received his Nidan, (2nd Degree Black Belt). The title of Master was given to him when he earned his Sandan (3rd Degree Black Belt) in May 2016.

Guy began his study of martial arts at the Koshinkan in 2005. He received his shodan (1st degree black belt) on August 28th, 2011. Guy is an assistant instructor for the adult class and also assists with teaching the juniors class. In February 2015, he earned the title of Nidan (2nd Degree Black Belt).
