26th Annual Railroad Days Celebration

Portola is the place to be on August 22nd through the 24th
for the annual Railroad Days Celebration. This year marks the 26th year for Railroad
Days featuring the theme "Rock'N & Rail'N" This is a three-day
event featuring a parade, train rides, dances, children's games, drawings, entertainment,
and much, much more. The main attraction, the Golden Spike Parade, is scheduled

Movie In The Park

Last months Movie in The Park in downtown Graeagle was
another success! The family crowds gathered and enjoyed the movie presented "Under
the Stars" by
Loretz Video. This month's film has been rescheduled to feature "21" starring
Kevin Spacey, Friday, Aug 8th. Again, Loretz will have their fabulous concession
stand selling hot buttered popcorn, cotton candy, chocolate, snacks, soda, water,
cider, hot cocoa, and many more fabulous treats and items. All you have to do
is bring your blankets and chairs, your family and friends. Admission is $2.00
per person. You can buy tickets at Loretz Video before the event or the night

2008 Plumas County Fair

Ongoing August Events

Saturday, August 2nd, Saturday, August 9th, and Saturday, August
23rd features Music at the Mine Concerts in Sierra City. On Sunday,
August 17th, a Feather River Dixieland Jazz Concert will sound off
at the Graeagle Community Hall, then again Sunday, August 31st at
the Picnic Grounds. Also on Sunday, August 17th, Living History Day
will be the highlight at the Plumas Eureka State Park Museum in Johnsville,
starting at 10:00 am and running until 3:00 pm. The Joshua Festival
arrives at the Fairgrounds Thu-Sun August 28th-31st. Finally, on
Saturday, August 30th, the Mohawk Community Resource Center will
