Burkhard Bohm, Ph.D. is
a California Registered Geologist and Certified Hydrogeologist. His
geology training began in Namibia, southwestern Africa, and continued
at the University of Goettingen in Germany in 1970. He attended graduate
school at Purdue University and
the Hydrology Program of the
University of Nevada, Reno. After
his graduate research at the Water Resources Center of the Desert
Research Institute
in Reno, Nevada he finished his doctorate in 1983.
While our clientele and
project scopes are diverse, increasingly
large Engineering and Hydrogeology firms are also seeking our growing
expertise in isotope hydrology and aqueous geochemistry.
Expertise:
- Ground water exploration. Locating well drilling
sites, drilling project management, pumping tests and test data
analysis. Application of geophysical surveys, aerial photo and
fracture trace analysis, stream flow measurements.
- Isotope hydrology and hydrochemistry
to enhance our hydrologic investigations. This growing field of
application holds much promise at comparatively low cost. For more
details see our short section on environmental tracer methods.
- Ground
water modeling and geochemical modeling.
For specialized tasks
requiring equipment and skills exceeding our capabilities, such as
geophysical exploration, special environmental sampling, lab analysis;
soils excavation, drilling and pump installation; we rely on the
services of a number of qualified subcontractors.
References, fee schedules, project and client
lists, detailed personal resume and list of publications are available upon
request.
Networking,
Cooperative Resources
Our capabilities are enhanced by networking with
academia and consulting expertise in Reno and Sacramento. Being a
graduate of the University of Nevada Hydrology Program, Burkhard
continues his contacts with academic personnel of the Desert Research
Institute (http://www.dri.edu/) in Reno, and relies on other resources
of the University of Nevada System including
access to library and GIS
resources.
