Martin
and OJ
This
year we are honoring two long-time employees of Graeagle Land
and Water – Martin Rizzo and O.J. (Jeff
Olsen) as our Grand Marshals. They are representing all the staff
at Graeagle Land
and Water. These two men are very visible in Graeagle as they
are often seen raking leaves and needles, mowing grass and caring
for the common properties of our town. They are the ones who
do the clean-up work during all the July 4th celebration. In
fact, when asked if they would be Grand Marshals for this parade,
O.J.’s answer was, “No, we have to work that day”!
Martin
Rizzo has been an employee of GL&W for 21 years. He
is from Portola but now resides in Graeagle in one of the little
red houses. He enjoys sports, particularly baseball and football.
O.J.
has been employed for 25 years (Happy Silver Anniversary!) and
is also from Portola and still lives there. He enjoys hiking
and gambling and actually won a very nice “prize” in
a Fantasy Five last year – says he now has extra gambling
money. They both state they enjoy working here.Thank you, Martin
and O.J. and all the good folks at Graeagle Land and Water for
your dedication to our community.

COMMUNITY APPRECIATION AWARD
This year we are honoring Graeagle Land and Water. Most visitors and
even many residents have no idea how much this organization does
for our community. Because of them, we have great drinking water,
a lovely recreational mill pond, a ballpark, a golf course, a picnic
ground and even a village green plus our little town is kept neat
and clean! They provide all maintenance of the common areas. They
also played a big role in assuring Graeagle residents of nearby medical
facilities. WE THANK YOU, Graeagle Land and Water.

THANK
YOU TO ALL OUR SPONSORS OF THE
MOHAWK
VALLEY INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION,
Our
sincere thanks to all who help sponsor this event through
your generous donations. Without your support these Independence
Day events would not be possible.
Fund
raising, it seems, is the most challenging aspect of any
organized event. It is very gratifying when so many community
members, organizations, businesses, property owners, and
individuals demonstrate their unified support. It shows you
care about the quality of life and the future of your community.
We
wish also to thank those of you who support the MVID events
through participation in the various fund-raising events. |
