45th Annual Mohawk Valley Independece Day Celebration

This is it! This is the biggest weekend event in Graeagle, our 45th annual Mohawk Valley Independence Day Celebration.

 

FRIDAY June 30,

Starting at 6 pm, Graeagle Lions Club will be hosting their 7th annual DANCE at THE CORNER BARN featuring music by Dusty Miles and the Cryin’ Shame, food and beverage vendors, and plenty of fun and excitement. There will also be a fantastic hot rod car show put on by the Sierra Cascade Street Rodders. You should definitely check this out! Tickets are $6 per person at the door. Kids Under 12 are FREE!

 

SATURDAY 
July 1 is packed with FUN FUN FUN! Get running with the 5k/10k Fun Run. Registration begins at 6 A.M, while the run starts 8 A.M at the Graeagle Soccer Field on Iroquois Trail (near downtown Graeagle - turn up the hill behind Graeagle Associates Realty Office). Registration fee is $35, or you can register online here.

 

The Nevada Gunfighters will be dogging fake bullets in their shows throughout the day.

 

The Reenactors  of the American Civil War (RACW) are back this year, and will feature two Civil War Battles at 12 and 3 pm.

 

There will also be a performance by the Nevada County Concert Band at 4 pm in the park, and music and karaoke at the Mill Pond just before the FIREWORKS show at Dusk.

 

Finally, once the sun sets, (about 9:30 PM), the awesome FIREWORKS display will light up the sky, in celebration of the 45th anniversary of this hometown event. It promises to be an impressive show! Food and refreshments will be available for purchase at the Mill Pond before the show. Please remember to be safe and courteous while having a great time.

 

SUNDAY - PARADE! 
On July 2nd, be sure to get down to the Pancake Breakfast at the Graeagle Firehall. It is one of the best places to hang out in the morning and enjoy good friends and good food while helping the community support our volunteer fire department. AND this year you’ll get a chance to win a signed Fender Strat from Huey Lewis and the News in their raffle. Tickets are $5.00 each or $20 for 5, and available at the Graeagle Restaurant, Graeagle Fire Department, and at the pancake breakfast.

 

The TriGraeagle Triathlon – a USA Triathlon Sanctioned event, starts at 7:30 A.M. with a sprint racecourse for beginners, and Olympic distance course for intermediate/advanced athletes. Register online at www.communitymultisport.com.

 

Around 10:00 AM, enjoy an Old West Gun Battle Shootouts and a Civil War Battle. BANG! The Old Fashioned Day in the Park also begins at 10 am, so drop by and grab a hamburger or hotdog before the parade.

 

At 1:00 PM, Our 45th annual parade is set to be another fun filled parade that celebrates the pride of our Small Town and the USA. Enjoy music from marching bands, decorated floats, horses, hot rods, and more.

 

After the parade, the Graeagle Park will continue our traditional Old Fashioned Day In The Park Celebration featuring tons of music, great food and refreshments.

 

Starting at 3 pm at the Mill Pond, we feature our first outdoor concert with Lacy J. Dalton & The Dalton Gang and Special Guest Robby James and The Streets of Bakersfield! Tickets are available in the park or at the Graeagle Merchants, or you can buy them online at www.graeagle.com/events/mvid/tickets All proceeds go to help support the fireworks!
